Britt Lorraine

Britt Lorraine, choreographer and artistic director:

A native of Texas, Ms. Lorraine holds a B.F.A. in Dance from Southern Methodist University and an M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Iowa. She has trained at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance with technique and choreographic scholarship. Ms. Lorraine performed in Martha Graham's Panorama at the Joyce and Joyce SoHo in the Martha Graham Company's 1999 Winter Season in New York. While in Iowa, Ms. Lorraine's "Sintax" was selected as repertory for the University of Iowa's Dancers in Company and was also chosen to represent the University of Iowa at the regional American College Dance Festival in 2003, receiving the highest honors possible for that year.

Since returning to San Antonio in 2004, Ms. Lorraine has taught ballet and modern dance at St. Philip's College and at the University of the Incarnate Word. In 2006 she was commissioned to create a new work, "Litany," as a guest artist at Saint Mary's Hall. In addition to founding Saint Lorraine Dance Company, Ms. Lorraine teaches Pilates and The Fletcher Work&trade at Mind, Body & Soul in the heart of Alamo Heights.
